This is a page that I did last night. It could be the start of a new story. I find that I'm most productive when I do a comic in a very stream of consciousness manner i.e. no planning. We'll see where this leads. It's a nice break from the circus comic.

Here's a panel from my circus comic. The book is coming along VERY slowly. This is due to drawing alot of things outside of my comfort zone i.e. buildings, backgrounds, animals, trains, action etc. So it's very time consuming and a lot of research is required. But I'm trying to stretch myself. Anyways. . . all for now.

This is a random drawing from my current sketchbook that I'm working in. Just something quick. Nothing else really new to report. Still waiting for my comic Moral Geometry to come in the mail from the printers. Hopefully soon.

This is a panel from my circus comic that I'm working on. A tired, over-worked and weary clown who can only find pleasure in taking a smoking break whilst thinking about shooting himself. Ah, the circus. Such a lovely place to escape to eh?

This is a ink drawing I did last year. It's entitled "Oh, But I'm happy here". It measures 9 by 12 inches on a piece of bristol board paper. One of the very few drawings that I've done that I like... I think because of this characters' personality really coming through in his expression.

This is a new painting I did. It's entitled "In Flux" and was made with acrylic paint, india ink and crayola crayons! 9 by 12 inches on canvas paper. I don't know why, but I'm constantly drawing/painting faces. Faces constantly in physical flux. Often, they are deformed but hopefully there's a bit of sleazy elegance to them. This painting and others are on sale now at ebay under my username AndressArts.

This is a recent quick sketch (click to enlarge) I did in my sketchbook. I am a compulsive sketcher. Is "sketcher" a word? Hmmm. Anyhoot, I have an almost compulsive drive to constantly be sketching. Some good and mostly bad ideas come from such exercises. This particular sketch makes me think of some of the poses Francis Bacon put many of his subjects in.

Above is a new panel from one of the pages from my circus comic. I think this panel is basically done. It's hard for me to stop tinkering with it. Anyways, I hope it sets a mood. It comes from the very beginning of the story. It took me a looooong time to do.

Above is a recent page from a new comic I've been working on. The comic is about an old-time circus parade. This page shows some of the characters warming up before the parade. The comic, in the end, will be hopefully 32 pages in length (I have about 9 pages finished). No dialogue in the story, just visuals. Influences for this project is the writing of Ray Bradbury and the classic film Freaks by Todd Browning.

Above is a bad scan of a recent painting I did in acrylic and india ink. It's titled "Blue Mask". It measures 9 by 12 inches on a piece of canvas paper. It's for sale on ebay. My user name on there is AndressArts if anyone is interested. I put up alot of paintings like this each month.
